Amazon.com Review:
Satisfy a roomful of guests calling for caffeine with the Jura-Capresso Impressa S9, the luxury automobile of home espresso centers. Both beautiful and powerful, the machine grinds, tamps, and brews delicious shots of espresso in 50 seconds and steams or froths milk without a wait. It's built with a dual 1250-watt ThermoBlock heating system, a forceful 18-bar power pump, and a distinctive emphasis on choice. You can steam milk manually or automatically, make drinks with or without foam, and grind for light or dark roasts. You can tailor your drinks' strength (5 to 16 g of coffee), size (1/2 to 16 ounces), and temperature (regular or high). You can even adjust the machine for water hardness, raise and lower the coffee spout, and regulate the separate hot water spigot.

Backing these options is a professional-grade, solid steel conical burr grinder with six settings and an aroma-saving design. A pre-infusion cycle conditions grounds for maximum flavor and the CLARIS water filter removes impurities for improved taste. The S9 also includes an illuminated coffee area, cup-heating deck, separate funnel for pre-ground coffee, and automatic indicators on the water tank, grounds hopper, and filter cartridge. The bean reservoir holds 10 ounces--enough for 40 shots--and the water tank holds 96 ounces. The unit also features auto shut-off, auto-on, self-rinse, and self-cleaning. The programmable control panel uses a two-line display with simple instructions in seven languages.

With its dual-tone bronze finish and chrome accents, the Impressa S9 is undoubtedly a looker. It is also designed to fit under kitchen cabinets, measuring 14 by 14 by 15-1/4 inches with a retractable power cord. Jura-Capresso includes an instructional booklet, video, and CD-ROM, plus a full one-year warranty for home use and a six-month one for offices. --Emily Bedard

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Great machine - WHEN IT WORKS!
We have had an S9 for 5 years and it has been in for repairs 3 times at $150 each. Now it is leaking and the repair price has gone up to $250. Note that when you send it for repairs you may not get the same machine back. This Jura in going to the trash heap where all of the products from this company belong. Their customer service is the worst I have experienced in many years. They really don't seem to care once they have your money.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not worth the $$$$, aggravation & lack of compassion.
These machine break and chances are they'll break right after the warranty ends. You pay to have it fixed. Good chance it'll break again. You pay to have it fixed again. It breaks again. Guy that's hired to fix them for Capresso does nothing and sends it back to you broken. No accountability. No follow-up. You send it back again. It comes back still broken. You'll spend your days chasing them and then they'll send the machine back to you broken. Worst of all they don't care if you just spent a thousand dollars for their painted plastic. You're SOL. Expensive novelty item. This latest round has me re-introducing myself to the local barista for three (3) weeks and counting. Enjoy it while you can.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Capresso machines not dependable
I will have to agree with Danny. I have the c3000 machine and it has broken 3 times with the same problem. It has been fixed under warranty 2 of those times and broke again after 1 use. I have seen blogs that say from their own technicians that they have problems with all of their refurbished items. The products are way over price and don't live up to their name. They will not get any recomendations from me.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Impressa-ive
I have one at home and one in the office. We have used them every day for the last year and never a problem. It automatically brews everything from espresso extra strong, to cafe latte. Kids use the hot water feature for soup mixes and put chocolate milk in the frothing attachment for easy, foamy hot chocolate.

Our machines grinds fresh coffee beans, tamps the coffee, brews and then extracts the used coffee into a neat little bin. We especially like the large capacity water reservoir for multiple brews per day.

This is light years ahead of other home brewing systems and makes obsolete most home espresso makers. The machine paid for itself in less than six months when compared to what we used to spend in coffee shops for inflated hot milk and coffee drinks. Great video instructions supplement a very adequate instruction book. Wonderful consumer help at their toll free number.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I question Capresso's quality commitment
Below is the message I Sent to Capresso. I think it explains it all. They did not reply until i sent them a follow up letter

Dear Madam or Sir:

I was very excited about purchasing one of your Capresso Super Automatic Impressa S series machines. The design concepts and convenience appealed to me. Usually (not always!) the higher priced items tend to be of better quality and your machines definitely fall into the higher priced category. Therefore I assumed they would be of the utmost quality. Boy was I wrong. Rather giddy I took the 45 minute drive down to ******** ******* in Wrentham, MA to purchase an Impressa S7 only to find they had none in stock, but they did have factory refurbished C3000 machines. So in having good luck with other manufactures refurbished products, and assuming your company was thorough in its refurbishing process I was comfortable purchasing one at its $1200.00 price tag. Upon arriving home and opening the package I was rather disappointed. The machine was filthy there was still grounds in it, and the surfaces and catch trays all had dried up coffee and sediment on them. So I read the manual and cleaned the machine the best I could. When I went to set it up and attach the frothXpress I found that the Steam nozzle was missing. Figuring I could call and get one shipped to me Monday I continued on. Plugging in the machine and going through the initial rinse phase I got a message to fill the system and press steam. The system was full ... Read More
