Editorial Review:

Amazon.com Review:
Large enough to grind up to 2-1/2 ounces of coffee beans (enough for 12 cups), this powerful grinder ensures that freshly ground coffee is quickly available, even for big coffeemakers in the office. The details are what make this grinder exceptional: The lid is transparent for monitoring the grind, and has two down-pointing ribs to guide beans toward the blades for even grinding. The design of the stainless-steel blades, combined with the 150-watt motor, means beans can be ground quickly without overheating and spoiling the coffee's taste. For safety, the grinder will not work unless the lid is securely in place and locked down. Finally, the power cord wraps around the grinder's bottom for neat storage. Clad in elegant black , the grinder carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 12 yrs!!!
My Braun coffee grinder finally broke after 12 years of daily use. the tray that holds the beans finally came loose after years of me grinding then hitting the side of the grinder to get the coffee off the walls of the tray. i'm ordering another one. i've never had a kitchen appliance last 12 years.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Braun Coffee Grinder
This coffee grinder leaked coffee down inside the motor rendering it useless within two weeks of receiving it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Lasts a LONG time!
I got one of these in 1992 and never bought pre-ground coffee again. It's lasted more than 15 years with no problems until the very end when the plastic casing at the top of the actual blade broke away. We have coffee daily so we got a lot of use out of this grinder. And because we had such a great experience with our first one, I'm definitely ordering another to replace it for the next 15 years!

This burr grinder is perfect for my needs. It grinds the beans to my choice
each time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - We Need a Replacement and I Think I'm going to buy the SAME thing again!
We got this coffee grinder as a gift back in 2002 I believe. It was our first grinder so I had nothing to compare it to but I liked it.

The pluses would be fast grinding and evenly ground as long as you grind it long enough. My husband would only hold the button down for about 12 seconds and the coffee he made is/was always weak and had whole and partial beans left. When I taught him to hold it to the count of 15-20 his coffee suddenly got much, much better! *grin*

It's easy to use with only one push button so there is little to mess with, no electronics to go 'wrong' and works well. I've used it for coffee beans, almonds, flax and spices although it's primarily used for coffee.

The downsides; It's loud! We regularly grab a kitchen towel, set it on the counter, put the coffee grinder in the middle of it, wrap the towel around and then push the button. Even this way it still wakes one of our kids in the morning so if I remember, I grind the beans the night before and program the coffee pot.

Another downside; if the plastic opening where the button presses down is filled with coffee dust it plugs and it won't work until you systematically clean it all out.

We do find it gets grounds all over the counter, but after reading a hundred reviews of other coffee grinders this seems rather universal.

Coffee grounds do tend to get 'stuck' on the bottom and will need to be swept out with a brush or your ... Read More
